Wearing ribbons in your hair can be cute, even for an adult. Ribbons have a childlike charm, and there are so many different ways to wear them in your hair. You could put a ribbon over a ponytail band and tie a sweet bow-a style that would work well for dressing up in a '50s poodle-skirt costume. You can also use ribbons to tie off pigtails or just as a simple headband. Or you can get more creative and braid a ribbon into your hair.
Instructions
1. Brush your hair with a smooth, round brush until it is soft and manageable. Brushing your hair a few extra times will add shine, because this stimulates your scalp to produce more oil.
2. Put your hair in a ponytail and fasten it with a hair tie. Slip one end of a ribbon in the hair tie and tie it with a knot. The ribbon should hang from your ponytail and blend in with your hair.
3. Split your hair into three sections, with the ribbon in the middle section. Braid your hair by wrapping each piece across the middle section. The ribbon should become woven into the braid. Make the braid tight so the ribbon does not slide out.
4. Tie off the end of the braid with a hair tie, leaving a long piece of hair at the end. Be sure the last piece of ribbon is wrapped around the back of your hair so the end is not visible.
5. Curl the end of your hair with a curling iron. Do not curl the ribbon, just the hair. Now you have a sweet, girl-next-door hairstyle.
