Hello Kitty Cake Directions
Hello Kitty is an iconic brand that is instantly recognizable to people of all ages all over the world. When you are creating a cake for someone who loves Hello Kitty, take inspiration from the Hello Kitty brand. Because the Hello Kitty symbol is fairly simple, even inexperienced bakers can create a cake that will impress. Add this to my Recipe Box.
Instructions
1. Use a serrated knife to trim the top and bottom off of one of the round cakes until you are left with an oval cake that is shaped like the Hello Kitty head. Place the oval on your cake platter.
2. Cut two triangles out of the second cake with your serrated knife. Place them against one of the long sides of the oval shape to create the Hello Kitty ears.
3. Frost the entire cake with a layer of white icing. Be sure to use the frosting to fill in any gaps between the triangle ear pieces and the oval head part of the cake to adhere them into place.
4. Fit a star tip into a pastry bag. Fill the pastry bag with white frosting. Pipe small star shapes onto the entire cake to give the Hello Kitty hair some texture.
5. Clean out the pastry bag and tip. Place pink frosting into the pastry bag. Use the star tip to draw on a pink bow just below the right ear of the Hello Kitty face.
6. Place two large black jelly beans onto the cake for eyes.
7. Use your hands to mold a pink square fruit chew into an oval shape. Place the fruit chew onto the cake as the Hello Kitty nose.
8. Cut black licorice ropes in half. Place three of the licorice pieces on either side of the nose as the Hello Kitty whiskers.
