Different Creatures With Bows For Any Focal point

Make your own centerpieces using bows and animals.

With a little ingenuity and creativity, you can make your own centerpieces using animals and bows. Take into account what type of event the centerpieces are for as well as the age group of the participants. If there is a theme for the event, use animals that represent the theme.

Sea Animal Centerpieces

Sea turtles, fish, dolphins or whales all can be used to make creative centerpieces. Use a big glass bowl and add water with a few drops of blue food coloring to make the water appear like a deep ocean blue. Tie the animals together with a sea green ribbon and bows between each animal. Place in the bowl so that the animals float in a circle around the outer edge. Add floating candles to the center or fake plants used in fish tanks to complete the look.

Mammal Centerpieces

Use a floral foam block as the starting point for the centerpiece. Add mammals such as wolves, monkeys, lions or tigers, depending on the theme of the event. Tie bows around the necks of the animals. Add flowers, real or fake, to the block. Make a wreath of flowers or a garland of leaves to add around the bottom of the block. Take it a step further and add trees to hang the monkeys from or, instead of flowers and garlands, make the centerpiece look like a desert oasis or a snowy mountain.

Prehistoric Centerpieces

Prehistoric animals, such as dinosaurs, are a beloved favorite of many young children. Make a paper mache volcano as the starting point. Paint the paper mache to look like a volcano. Put dinosaurs around the base of the volcano or make a ledge for pterodactyls. Tie bows in red ribbon down the side of the volcano to simulate a lava flow. Top it off by letting the kids add baking soda and vinegar to the volcano at the end of the party and have fun watching the "lava" flow.

Fantasy Animal Centerpieces

Focus on fantasy animals for centerpieces at a fantasy land party. Start with a lush forest of trees. Place the trees on a mosaic platter. Tie bows in the branches. Paint little plastic apples with gold paint and hang them from the tree branches. Add fairies with bows for wings around the trees. Place unicorns and dragons around the centerpiece and in the forest. Add glow-in-the-dark glitter to the centerpiece for a nighttime effect.
