Ribbon comes in a variety of different colors.
A ribbon hair bow is a type of hair accessory made from several pieces of ribbon. Store-bought hair bows can be costly, but you can create your own hair bow at home for a fraction of the price. You can use different colored, sized and textured ribbons to create a stylish hair bow that reflects your individuality and personal style. All the materials required to make a ribbon hair bow can be purchased from craft stores or online retailers.
Instructions
1. Cut a 6-inch long piece of wide ribbon.
2. Fold the two ends of the ribbon behind so that they slightly overlap in the middle. Turn the glue gun on. Place a small drop of glue onto the edge of one of the folded flaps and glue it to the other edge of ribbon. Allow the glue to dry for 5 minutes.
3. Gently pinch and manipulate the middle of the bow inwards to create a bow shape. Use the crocodile clip to temporarily hold the bow shape in place.
4. Cut a 2-inch long piece of the thin ribbon. Remove the crocodile clip but keep the shape of the bow in place. Wrap the ribbon around the center of the ribbon. Apply a drop of hot glue to the back of the thin piece of ribbon and glue it to the other end of the thin ribbon. Allow the glue to dry for five minutes. Trim off any excess thin ribbon with the scissors.
5. Gently open the hair slide and insert the top end through the middle of the thin ribbon at the back of the bow. Apply a drop of glue to the top of the hair slide to secure it to the ribbon. Allow the glue to fully dry before wearing it.
