Hair bows can be made for little girls in many colors and patterns.
The right hair bow can make any girl's outfit more complete. With a little time and creativity, you can make a hair bow to match every one of your little girl's dresses, creating a customized look while saving money.
Instructions
1. Choose a satin or grosgrain ribbon in your daughter's favorite color, or one that will match her outfit. Cut two pieces of ribbon. One should be approximately 24 inches long, and the other should be about 4 inches long.
2. Lay the longer strip of ribbon on a flat surface and fold the ends in, crossing them over the center. Adjust the placement of the ribbon to suit your desired loop size.
3. Sew a few stitches in the center of the ribbon, gathering all layers. Pull the stitches tight and secure and cut your thread.
4. Wrap the 4-inch piece of ribbon around the neck of your bow, covering the stitches. Overlap and glue the edges at the back of the bow.
5. Find a barrette or elastic hair band to match the color of the ribbon. Place a small bead of glue on the back of the ribbon and attach it to the barrette or hair band.
