Little girls' hair wouldn't be the same without a selection of cute hair bows. There are dozens of sizes, colors, styles and patterns of bows for little girls. Creating your own can help save money and provide creative style to your daughter's hair and clothing, and you can make some for yourself, as well.
Instructions
1. Pick out some fabrics. Try different styles and textures, like satin, velvet or thick-patterned ribbon. Cut a foot of ribbon from each fabric.
2. Choose the ribbon you will use. Tie it into a precise bow. Don't pinch the middle of the bow, because this will squash the bow and make it look worn out. Make the bow as large or small as you please.
3. Select a metal clip; you can buy various sizes of hair clips from very small to large. Add a dab of hot glue to the back of the bow.
4. Press the bow firmly onto the metal clip. Hold it for five seconds to secure it. Let the glue dry thoroughly before wearing.
5. Bobby pins and Velcro strips can be used to hold the bows as well. Dab some hot glue on one side of a Velcro strip, and securely press the bow into the Velcro strip. This is perfect for larger bows, which can also be attached to dresses or clothing. Secure the other side of the Velcro strip to fabric on a dress, backpack, purse, etc. This way, you can wear the bow differently depending on your mood.
6. Instead of gluing the bow to a clip, you can slide a bobby pin through the knot of the bow to anchor it. You can then push the bobby pin into your hair and it will hold your hair back, as well as holding the bow.
