Paper Crafts For Any Craft Show

Create origami designs for products to sell at a craft fair.

You are looking for something different and eye-catching to stock your craft booth. Crafts that you create with paper products add variety to your booth and can be extremely cost efficient. Paper offers a versatile medium for many different art forms. Greeting cards are a product suitable for any occasion, and the scrapbook trend is still going strong. Consider paper crafts for your next show.

Greeting Cards

Base the type of greeting card you sell on an art medium you enjoy. Purchase blank greeting cards and envelopes in desired colors from a craft or hobby store. Or create your own cards by trimming card stock to a desired size and fold them in half so that the edges match. Create dried flowers by pressing several blooms between heavy books for several days. Arrange flowers on the front of cards and paste them down with a water glue mixture. Create pictures with shapes cut from scrapbook paper, and embellish with ribbons, feathers and gemstones. Offer for sale individually or package several in boxes or clear bags.

Scrapbook Packs

Create scrapbook packs for different holidays and subjects. Include custom cut frames, shapes, stickers and cut-outs. Stencil sayings on to pieces of card stock to go with your themes. Create packs for boys, girls, pets, vacations, Christmas, and any upcoming holidays or events. Include a dispenser of scrapbook tape and scissors with each pack if desired. Package kits in clear bags so customers can view products you are including.

Origami Earrings

Share your love of this Japanese folding art by creating unusual earrings. Choose a simple pattern from a book or online. Practice folding the pattern with a larger piece of paper until familiar with how it is created. Experiment with different styles and types of paper until you find the right type to create earrings that are in the size and style you desire. Make two pieces of art with the same pattern that look as similar as possible. Spray the paper art with clear varnish and let dry. Poke a hole in the top of each piece with a needle and loop an earring finding through it so that the piece dangles freely. Purchase earring display cards from a craft or hobby supply store to display your earrings. Other origami craft options include mobiles, pictures and decorated origami boxes.

Stenciled Gift Bags

Purchase plain brown gift bags in several sizes from a craft or hobby supply store. Choose bags that have handles or create your own by punching holes in the tops with a hole punch and threading ribbon through the holes. Choose stencils such as flowers, hearts, baby themes and items that relate to upcoming holidays. Hold the stencils down firmly over the bags and paint inside the shapes with a stencil brush or craft sponge. Embellish bags with ribbons and buttons if desired. Fluff up a few pieces of tissue paper inside each bag for added flair.
