Decorate the room with alligators to bring this theme to life.
Some kids love cute cuddly things such as teddy bears, puppies and kittens because they feel safe and comforting. Other fearless kids are fascinated by the scaly side of the animal kingdom and love large reptiles like snakes and alligators. If your child is an alligator fan, there are various ways to use this creepy, crawly animal to decorate his birthday party. Incorporate alligator colors throughout the party room from dinnerware to balloons to create a memorable alligator party that will light up her eyes.
Instructions
1. Place a large helium balloon bouquet that consists of green and white balloons at the entrance of the room. Place a large alligator shaped balloon in the middle of the balloon bouquet. Create balloon bouquets with different shades of green balloons and place them throughout the room. Tie white curling ribbons to balloon bouquets. Let a few helium balloons in bright colors such as red, blue and yellow float to the ceiling. Check out party supply stores and see if they have balloons with alligators printed on them.
2. Hang a banner in a prominent place that says "Welcome to Joe's Alligator Birthday Party!" or hang an alligator themed banner that says "Party! Party!"
3. Hang green and white party streamers from wall to wall. Twist party streamers in contrasting colors to create a three dimensional effect.
4. Place large green stuffed or inflatable alligators in the room. Tie a couple of brightly colored balloons to the tails of the alligators.
5. Create an artificial creepy marshland in part of the room. Hang miniature green lights in this area. Place a few glow in the dark alligators of various sizes in the area to give the impression of a marshland. Place other glow in the dark creatures like snakes, lizards, frogs and bugs in this area as well.
6. Drape a green tablecloth on the table. Place drinking cups, napkins, paper plates and utensils that have an alligator theme on the table. Place small toy plush or vinyl alligators in the center of the table in a circle position so it appears that they are walking out from the center. Sprinkle green and white alligator shaped confetti on the table.
7. Hang posters that show alligators at various stages of life from a small egg to a large alligator. Kids will be amazed at how large an alligator grows.
