Show off your tiny dog's sartorial whimsy with a homemade bow.
Dressing up your chihuahua, mini-doberman or other diminutive dog with a cute bow is a way to show your their personality and yours too. Making little bows only requires a few materials to accessorize your tiny pup.
Instructions
1. Spread the piece of newspaper over the area where you will be working. This will protect the work surface from being damaged by the hot glue.
2. Insert a glue stick into the glue gun and plug the gun in to begin warming.
3. Fold the the 6-inch piece of ribbon material exactly in half lengthwise and mark the middle point with the marker.
4. Lay the marked ribbon material flat on your work surface and place a drop of hot glue on the middle point you marked on the material.
5. Fold each end of the ribbon to touch the drop of hot glue at the middle point of the piece of ribbon. You should now have a bow-shaped piece of ribbon. This will serve as the base layer of your bow.
6. Fold the 3-inch piece of ribbon material in half and mark the middle point with the marker.
7. Lay the 3-inch piece of ribbon flat on your work surface and place a drop of hot glue on the middle point you marked on the material.
8. Fold the ends of the ribbon material to the middle of the piece of material and press them into the drop of hot glue.
9. Put a drop of hot glue on the top side of the middle of the first (the 6-inch piece) bow you made.
10. Place the second bow on top of the first, directly in the middle and press it into the drop of hot glue.
11. Fold the 1.5-inch piece of ribbon material in half and mark the middle point with the marker.
12. Lay the 1.5-inch piece of ribbon flat on your work surface and place a drop of hot glue on the middle point you marked on the material.
13. Fold the ends of the ribbon material to the middle of the piece of material and press them into the drop of hot glue.
14. Put a drop of hot glue on the top side of the middle of the second (the 3-inch piece) bow you made.
15. Place the third bow on top of the second, directly in the middle and press it into the drop of hot glue.
16. Put a drop of hot glue in the middle of the top of the third and smallest bow you made and press the faux gemstone firmly into the drop.
17.Put a line of hot glue along the length of the top of the barrette.
18. Press the bottom of your folded bows into the hot glue. The faux gemstone should be facing upward.
