Transform old strips of fabric into fabulous hair bows.
If you enjoy making crafts, chances are you have bits of odds and ends such as buttons and fabric remnants left over from other sewing projects. But instead of stashing these items in a drawer, give them new life by making them into fabric rose bows. These trendy bows add a touch of girly chic to any hairstyle. Use fabric prints and colors that reflect your sense of style to create rose bows.
Instructions
1. Cut strips of fabric so they measure about 2 inches wide and 20 to 25 inches long.
2. Place a strip of fabric, wrong-side up on the table.
3. Twist the right end of the fabric at an angle in a counterclockwise direction to form the rosebud.
4. Pinch the bottom of the rosebud with one hand. With the other hand, twist the rest of the fabric, a little bit at a time, and wrap it around the rosebud.
5. Continue to twist, wrap and bunch the fabric so it forms the shape of a rose until you have less than an inch of fabric left.
6. Hot glue the end of the fabric to the back of the rose.
7. Hot glue the button to the center of your rose. Use a button that complements the color of the fabric.
8. Hot glue rhinestones to the button to add a touch of glam to your rose bow.
9. Attach an alligator clip to a small piece of cardboard. Put hot glue on the top of the clip and a little on the fabric rose. Glue the rose to the clip. Let the glue dry.
