If you sell handmade hair clips, barrettes or hair jewelry at festivals and craft shows, you will need display cards for your products. A properly designed display card not only shows your professionalism, it helps protect your homemade products as well as attract attention from buyers. The card also serves as a marketing tool to promote your business. The following is a simple guide to get you started on making your own display cards.
Instructions
1. Decide how many hair clips you want to attach onto each card. The size of the card could be as small as a business card for a single hair clip or as large as a postcard for multiple clips.
2. Design a logo and print it on a sheet of labels. Alternatively, you may print it directly onto the card stock. Print separate labels for contact and marketing information.
3. Measure the metal underside of the hair clip or barrette.
4. Draw two parallel lines of equal length on the card stock. The distance between those lines should be smaller than the metal part of the hair clip
5. Punch a hole on each line's endpoint, using a handheld hole puncher. You will have four holes in total.
6. Use an X-Acto knife, cut two vertical slits starting at the top holes toward the bottom holes.
7. Clip the barrette between the slits. You may need to experiment with the distance of the slits.
8. Apply your logo onto the top of your card. Your contact or marketing information may go on the back of cards.
9. For a hanging display, you may make a hole on top of the card and tie a string through it.
