Add a pop of color to your birthday outfit with a brightly colored hair accessory, such as a hair bow. Only, instead of making the bow with the traditional ribbon, make it with balloons. You can make a balloon hair bow in just a few minutes time and it is such a simple project even a child can do it. Have the girls at your daughter's birthday party make their own balloon hair bows to take home as party favors.
Instructions
1. Open up the barrette by pinching the two metal circles on either side of the end opposite the hinge. Remove the metal arch piece located inside the barrette by popping out one end and sliding out the other.
2. Place the barrette in front of you so the top of the barrette is facing up. Starting at one end of the barrette, slide the first balloon under the barrette with half the balloon sticking out one side and the other half sticking out the other. Tie the balloon around the barrette so the knot is on the top of the barrette. Slide the next balloon under the barrette, making the wide end of the balloon stick out of the opposite side of the barrette. Tie the balloon around the barrette, again with the knot on top of the barrette. Repeat the steps for all remaining balloons, alternating which side of the barrette the wide end of the balloons stick out of.
3. Replace the arched metal piece on the underside of the barrette. Attach the barrette to the hair just as you would any other.
