Spice up a basic volleyball uniform with a decorative hair bow.
Add excitement to basic ponytails with bows for volleyball that show team spirit. Long hair pulled back securely out of the eyes is a common safety precaution in girl's sports, but ponytails don't have to be boring. Choose your team colors and easily transform a basic covered hairband into a decorative accessory that's part of the uniform. Create bows for the whole team that are so pretty and practical they'll be a hit on the court.
Instructions
1. Cut four pieces of ribbon. The widest-width ribbon should be 18 inches, one 16 inches, one 14 inches and the narrowest-width ribbon should be 12 inches. Trim the ends into a "V" shape.
2. Seal the ends of each ribbon. Burn the ends just slightly to melt the ribbon and stop it from fraying.
3. Layer all four strands of ribbon on top of each other. The widest ribbon should be on the bottom and the narrowest one on top.
4. Grasp the bundle of ribbon at the center. Holding it firmly and tie it in a knot around the hair band. Be sure that the right sides of the ribbon are both facing upward before pulling the knot tight.
5. Adjust the knot so that it is at the top of the hairband.
6. Stitch through the knot two or three times to secure it. Start and end your stitching on the underside of the knot so it is not visible.
