Little girls adore cute hair bows.
Even at a young age, girls have a keen eye for fashion. Clothing and hair accessories allow them to explore and express their individual style. Little girls love cute, loopy hair bows, especially one-of-a-kind bows designed specifically for them. Consider making hair bows for your daughter's hair accessory collection. Choose ribbon styles she would be proud to wear and use this straightforward technique to make loop hair bows.
Instructions
Make the Bow
1. Remove the tension spring from the barrette. Form a loop with the ribbon and measure it against the barrette; the loop should cover the entire length of the barrette.
2. Set the barrette aside. Hold the first loop with the loose end facing downward. Pull ribbon from the roll and create a second loop on the opposite side of the first loop.
3. Pull the long end of the ribbon over the top of the bow and form the third loop on the side of the first loop. Make sure the ribbon from the third loop crosses the middle of the bow.
4. Tuck the long end of the ribbon under the bow and form the fourth loop. Make sure the fourth loop is on the side of the second loop. Cut off the extra ribbon.
5. Hold the bow firmly in the center. Take 2 inches of floral wire and wrap it around the center of the ribbon. Cut off the extra length of wire and ribbon.
Finishing the Bow Barrette
6. Place a small amount of hot glue on the topside of the barrette and place it on the backside of the bow.
7. Cut 2 inches of ribbon and wrap it around the wire in the center of the bow.
8. Place hot glue on the underside of the clip and attach the ribbon from Step 2 onto the clip.
9. Place the tension spring back into the barrette.
