Making a bow from a balloon is feasible for both children and adults.
Balloon making is a hobby that allows you to make even the most complex shapes, all starting with a simple balloon. One cute shape that would be appropriate for beginning balloon makers is a bow, which only requires one balloon and a few twists and ties. If you are interested in trying balloon making, a balloon bow is a great place to start.
Instructions
1. Blow up a long balloon either with your mouth or with an air pump, refraining from blowing it up entirely so that a 2-inch tail is left on the end of the balloon.
2. Tie off the balloon.
3. Starting at the bottom of the balloon, move up about 2 inches, pinch off the balloon at that spot, and twist until there is a small area sectioned off from the rest of the balloon.
4. Move further down the balloon 4 more inches, pinch off that spot, and twist, making another sectioned off area.
5. Section off about an inch more of balloon, pinch it off, and twist to create a little bubble. Repeat two more times, leaving you with three bubbles total.
6. Move down the length of the balloon another 4 inches, pinch and twist.
7. Bring together both of the 4-inch sections and twist. The remaining shape should resemble one half of a bow.
8. Section off 2 inches of balloon, pinch it off, and twist it with the tip of the balloon where you originally started.
9. Repeat Steps 4 through 6 on the other side of the bow.
10. Bring both the 4-inch sections together and twist. The tail that you left at the end of the balloon should be hanging loose. Tie the tail around the twist into a tight knot and snip off any remaining tail. You should be left with a beautiful balloon bow.
