Most babies are blessed with delicate, soft, downy hair. Special care is required to ensure baby's hair is treated as gently as possible. Baby shampoos and conditioners are specifically formulated to be as mild on baby's scalp and hair as possible. However, when a baby’s hair turns out to be curly, it can be difficult to manage. The following is a list of steps to help handle your baby’s curls.
Instructions
1. Wash the baby’s hair at least three times per week with a mild baby shampoo. Use a baby conditioner if necessary. Gently towel dry hair.
2. Avoid using a brush on curly hair. Brushes cause curly hair to puff up and frizz out.
3. Take a gentle baby comb while baby’s hair is wet and comb through the ends only. Do not comb through all the way to the scalp, as this will encourage frizziness.
4. Pull a baby girl's curly hair back with a baby headband to take curls out of her face and avoid “big hair.”
5. Baby boys can have their hair cut short to keep curls out of their eyes.
