Shaped like a ballerina costume, tutu bow holders are a creative and fun way to keep hair accessories organized and double as a charming accent to room decor. Whether you're adding extra tulle to a tutu bow holder or creating one of your own, attaching the tulle is simple and can be done inexpensively. You can add other embellishments while attaching the tulle, or leave the tutu as it is. Take creative license and have fun.
Instructions
1. Use a low-temp glue gun or embroidery floss to attach the tulle to the tutu. You don't want to damage the fabric used for the bodice of the bow holder. You also can knot in additional tulle, depending on the way the original tulle was attached.
2. To glue the tulle in place, apply a line of hot glue to the original tulle and press the new tulle into the wet glue. To hide the seams you can add a ribbon waistband, small bows, or other embellishments.
3. If you're stitching, use a heavy embroidery floss so that the tulle can withstand the addition of hair bows, and stitch the added tulle to the original tulle with a simple back stitch. Cover the seams with a band of ribbon or other embellishments.
4. Knot in additional tulle only if the original bow holder has a waistband that is independent of the bodice. If the tutu part of the bow holder can be separated entirely from the bodice (if it is wearable, for instance), tulle can be knotted in with a slipknot or other knot right along the waistband.
