Crafts With Pink Lace

Make your own vintage clothing using pink lace.

Pink is a color often associated with femininity. Not only is it the traditional color used to indicate that an expected child is a girl, but it's a very soft pastel. Although the use of pink is certainly not restricted just to girls, it pairs nicely with lace for those wishing to express their softer nature. Making craft items with pink lace can create a message of feminine charm.

Pink Lace Clothing

Using pink lace to trim clothing items conveys a gentleness of spirit. Add a touch of pink lace trim around a collar or to the edge of a dress bodice. Summer dresses especially can be spiced up by a touch of lace, or take out your needle and sew some lace onto a plain button-down shirt to dress it up. People commonly add lace to children's apparel when making their own baby clothes. You can also use pink lace around the top edges of booties intended for a baby girl. You can even make lace bracelets by simply sewing a hook and eye on a lovely piece of pink lace. Dolls need dressing up too. When you make clothes for dolls, add a touch of lace to their robes and dresses.

Greeting Cards

Add a touch of pink lace around the edge of a greeting card meant for that special teen. Glue the lace around the edge of the card so that the straight edge of the lace forms a frame for the card's message. You can also form hearts out of pink lace for romantic cards.

Trim a Mirror

Add pink lace around the edge of the mirror in your teen's room for an added air of femininity. Use hot glue to attach the lace to the glass, and interweave other pretty items like silk flowers, crafting gems and ribbons. You can even choose to use wide, floppy pink lace all the way around the edges of a mirror to make it look like a large pink flower. The pink lace flower will frame your teen's face every time she adjust her hair and makeup. Add a bow of wide, green velvet ribbon with long trailing ends at the bottom of a wall mirror to finish off the flower theme.

Trim Your Accessories

Crafting your own accessories merely requires a bit of imagination and a hot glue gun. Start with a plain bedside lamp and add pink lace to the top and bottom edges. To add some interest, loop the lace, attaching it at only five or seven points. Add a crafting gem at each attachment point for a little glitter. You can also sew the lace onto the edges of pillows or hot glue it to the headboard of your bed. Make flowers out of the lace by looping it to create petals and sew a button for the center.
