Make Boutique Koozies

A koozie keeps your canned drink cool and the can's perspiration off of your hand. You can show your style and keep your hands dry by making a personalized koozie. Use feathers, fringe, faux jewels and strips of fabric to design your speciality koozie. Make several for an outdoor party or backyard barbeque. Take along with you to a tailgate or your friend's pool party. Personalized koozie's also make cute, functional gifts for bridesmaids. "Put your own creative spin on each koozie so they'll be easy to tell apart," writes the magazine of Food Network's Paula Deen.

Instructions

1. Buy a plain koozie. You can purchase undecorated koozies from craft stores and online vendors.

2. Insert a glue stick into your glue gun and plug in the gun to a power outlet. Allow your glue gun to heat up for about five minutes. Test if the glue is ready by squeezing a small amount on a piece of paper. The glue should flow easily.

3. Embellish with materials of your choice. This is the time to get creative. Using your glue gun, add a strip of ribbon or decorate fringe around the base or top of your koozie. To do this, drop a dot of glue at the base or top of the koozie and press the end of a strip of ribbon or fringe. Allow to dry. Then, use the glue gun to make a line of glue about the length of your thumb on the ribbon or fringe. Press to the koozie and allow to dry. Repeat until the embellishment wraps the koozie, and cut away excess.
