Turn spare ribbon you have around the house into a decorative hairbow.
You can attach hair bow streamers to ponytail holders for stylish flair. Female athletes, cheerleaders, and dance teams often wear coordinating hairbow streamers at games. Hairbow streamers also add a festive touch to your outfit at Halloween, Christmas or other holiday parties.
Instructions
1. Cut four to six pieces of ribbon about a foot long. You can use different colors and patterns to add visual interest.
2. Tie a bow with all of the ribbons except one. Sew the bow securely by making a few stitches in the center of the bow where all of the ribbon intersects. This will be the main focal point of the hairbow streamer.
3. Wrap the remaining ribbon around the hair elastic, and sew it to the back of the bow. Tug on the bow to make sure it's secure; if it loosens, sew a few more stitches.
4. Trim the ends of the ribbons so they are all the same length. For a sharper look, cut each end at an angle.
