Create a themed hair bow by adding a decorated bottle cap.
Bottle cap centers have made hair bows even more customizable. These centers feature a resin-covered paper image, which means you can add any graphic or printed message to a bow. For an inside-out bottle cap, the image is adhered to the underside of the bottle cap. Make bottle caps featuring your child's favorite cartoon character or your teen's high school mascot. Make holiday bottle caps that feature candy canes or pumpkins. Pair the bottle cap with any bow to transform an ordinary hair clip into a trendy fashion accessory.
Instructions
1. Center an image found on the decorative paper inside the hole punch. Press the hole punch to cut out a 1-inch-diameter image.
2. Flip the bottle cap upside down so that the flared rim is pointing up.
3. Flip the 1-inch-diameter image over and rub the glue stick over the entire back of the image.
4. Press the glue-coated side of the 1-inch-diameter image into the bottom of the bottle cap. The flared rim of the bottle cap should extend up around the sides of the image. Set the bottle cap aside.
5. Place the cookie sheet on a flat work surface. Line the cookie sheet with a sheet of parchment paper. Tape down the edges of the parchment paper.
6. Place the bottle cap on the parchment-lined cookie sheet with the flared rim facing up.
7. Mix 1 oz. resin in the disposable cup according to the manufacturer's instructions. Place the tip of the syringe into the cup of resin, and fill the syringe with resin.
8. Hold the resin-filled syringe over the center of the bottle cap. Squeeze three drops of resin onto the center of the bottle cap. Use the wooden craft stick to spread the resin over the entire 1-inch-diameter image at the bottom of the bottle cap.
9. Exhale gently over the bottle cap to remove any bubbles created during the resin coating.
10. Place the rectangular box over the cookie sheet to prevent dust and dirt from settling in the wet resin. Keep the cookie sheet covered for 24 hours while the resin cures.
11. Uncover the cookie sheet and remove the completed bottle cap.
