Korker ribbons add color and fun to your hairdo.
Hair bows can add color and fun to any hairstyle. If you're looking for funky and different hair bows, consider making korker hair bows. Korker ribbons are made into tight spirals that you can either purchase or make yourself. Making the ribbons is not difficult--and it will save you some extra money. With a few extra accessories, you can make your korker ribbons into korker hair bows. These bows are worn frequently by girls in gymnastics, in cheerleading or just for fun.
Instructions
1. Preheat your oven to 275 degrees. The oven will "bake" the ribbons into a spiral curl.
2. Secure one ribbon to the top of one dowel using a clothespin.
3. Turn the bottom of the dowel with your dominant hand while guiding the ribbon into a tight spiral with your non-dominant hand.
4. Cut off any ribbon that comes past the bottom of the dowel with a pair of scissors. Secure the bottom of the ribbon to the dowel with a second clothespin.
5. Repeat Steps 2 through 4 with the remaining 29 ribbons.
6. Lay all of the dowels flat on a clean cookie sheet. Place them into the oven set at 275 degrees for 25 minutes. When they're finished, take out the ribbons and set them aside to cool for 30 minutes.
7. Lay an elastic string on a table or flat surface. Stack the ribbons on top of the string (a first row of 12, a second of ten and the top row of eight).
8. Pull the sides of the string up over the ribbons. Tie the string into a tight double-knot. When the ribbons are tied together, they will bunch out like a pom-pon. Cut any excess string from the ribbons.
9. Open an alligator hair clip and slide it through the elastic string. Use the clip to attach the bow to your hair.
