Stylists in salons use these clips in a variety of sizes and shapes to hold the hair in place while cutting or styling.
Alligator Clips
These plastic or metal single-prong clips resemble clothespins and are used for infants and children with fine hair. The top half is accessorized with beads, crystals or fabric.
French Barrettes
French barrettes, made of metal, are an option for long, thick hair. They spring open when the sides are squeezed together and locked into place by snapping the ends together. They may come decorated with silk flowers or peacock feathers for a more sophisticated look.
Bridal Clips
Many brides like to accessorize their up-dos with hair clips decorated with rhinestones, pearls, cubic zirconia or, for the more luxurious, diamonds.
