Corkscrew ribbons make perfect pom-pon hair clips.
Corkscrew ribbons, or korker ribbons, are grosgrain ribbons that have been "baked" into perfect and permanent spirals. You can purchase these ribbons from any arts and craft store for a reasonable price. (Typically, you can get a pack of 50 for under $25.) Making a hair clip with the ribbons is very simple and quick; however, you'll need quite a bit of ribbon-it takes 30 corkscrew ribbon to make just one hair bow. When finished, the ribbons will look like a pom-pon, perfect for any little girl's hair.
Instructions
1. Lay the elastic cord onto a clean, dry surface.
2. Arrange all the corkscrew ribbons directly on top of the cord. You may need to stack the ribbons-three rows of 10 ribbons-so that they fit across the cord.
3. Pull the cord up along the outside of the stack of ribbons, and tie the cord into a loose knot.
4. Open the hair clip, and slide the top portion of the hair clip through the elastic cord. Tighten the cord over the hair clip, and tie a second knot into the cord to ensure that it's secure.
5. Cut the excess ends of the elastic cord so that they cannot be seen.
