"Powerpuff Women" Crafts

Transform your child's sunglasses into super Powerpuff Girl eyes.

"The Powerpuff Girls" is an animated television show starring three girls in kindergarten who have magical superpowers. In addition to fighting evil villains and monsters, Blossom, Buttercup and Bubbles must deal with normal children's issues, such as personal hygiene, school or bedwetting. Pay tribute to these young superheroes by making super homemade crafts.

Powerpuff Girl Balloon

To create a Powerpuff Girl balloon, you will need a Powerpuff girl template (see Resources) or a freehand drawing of a Powerpuff girl, balloons, string, markers, scissors, construction paper and tape.

Choose your favorite Power Puff girl template and print out or draw one yourself. Color just the clothing and headbands using the appropriate colors: blue for Bubbles, green for Buttercup and pink for Blossom. Cut out just the body from the picture and attach it to the bottom of a blown up white or tan-colored balloon. Use the picture as a guide to draw your Powerpuff Girl's face onto the balloon with marker. Cut out hair from construction paper and attach it to the top of the head with tape. Make a bow from ribbon or more construction paper and tape it onto the hair. Tie a thin white string to the balloon and watch your Powerpuff Girl fly.

Powerpuff Girl Toilet Paper Roll Craft

To make a handheld toy like the one found on the DLTK website, you will need a Powerpuff girl template (see Resources) or a freehand drawing of one, markers, scissors and glue.

Print out the template or draw your picture, then color and cut out individual pieces to match your favorite Powerpuff girl. Glue the torso piece around the tube and trim any overhang with scissors. Attach the remaining pieces to the tube with glue to make your Powerpuff girl. Use a bow and long hair for Blossom and pigtails for Bubbles.

Powerpuff Girl Sunglasses

Turn your little one into a superhero with giant Powerpuff girl eyes. To make these shades, you will need a pair of sunglasses with black lenses, white paper, scissors, markers and glue.

Fold your paper in half. Draw one large oval on one side of the paper. Cut out the oval, so that you have two identical eyes. Using a black marker, draw an inner oval about 2/3 the size of the original oval in each of the eyes. Color in this smaller oval only.

Cut out two small circles from another piece of paper and glue near the top of the black ovals to make pupils. Pick the corresponding marker color for your Powerpuff Girl (pink, green or blue) and color in a thin border around the black oval, about 1/4 inch thick. Make small slits from the black oval so you will be able to see through the eyes. Glue the eyes to the sunglasses.

Powerpuff Girl Decoupage

Decoupage Powerpuff Girls to nearly any dry surface. You will need white glue, water, acrylic sealant, brushes and Powerpuff Girl picture cutouts. Combine water and glue until it thins out but still has a coagulated consistency. You can also use Mod Podge.

To get a sense of your design, prearrange your cutouts onto your surface -- a box or flat surface is a great place to start for beginners. Remove the cutouts. Brush a small bit of glue onto the surface where you are going to place the picture. Brush glue onto the back of the cutout and apply it to the surface. Use your thumb to smooth out the picture to remove air bubbles. Continue this process until your entire surface is covered. When you are finished gluing your pictures, apply an additional coat of glue on top, then let it completely dry. Spray with acrylic sealant and dry.
