Some women like to put a knot in their braids to serve as a bun or fashion statement. You must have fairly long hair in order to put a knot in a low-sitting braid, as the lower the braid is anchored, the less hair you have to work with. Knots work ideally in fairly thin hair, as the knot will be less bulky and requires less length to wind around itself. The thicker the hair, the longer the length should be. Hair should be at least mid-back length for low braid knots.
