Engrave Laces and ribbons

Ribbons come in an array colors, sizes, shades and styles. If you go into any hobby and craft store you will easily find several aisles devoted to just ribbons. Ribbons can be used for many different craft projects as well: they can be used for packaging, hanging frames, belting a dress or to hold back hair. No matter which way you like to use your ribbon, personalizing it can add style to any ribbon. "Engrave" the ribbon using simple products found at a craft store.

Instructions

1. Purchase ribbon from a craft store. Choose a wider ribbon to be able to have space to write on it. Also for packages or hanging frames, use a ribbon with a wire running through it; this makes the ribbon will be stronger and easier to use.

2. Cut the ribbon to the appropriate length for the item it is being used for.

3. Write on the end(s) of the ribbon with a pencil the words you want on the ribbon, such as "happy birthday," "congratulations" or "merry Christmas." For hanging frames, write the date and/or place when and where the picture was taken. For hair ribbons, write the first or last name of the child who will wear the ribbon.

4. Pour a quarter-sized drop of glue onto a piece of wax paper.

5. Dip a toothpick into the glue and write over the penciled lettering with the glue. Using a toothpick will help to avoid clumps of glue getting all over the ribbon.

6. Place the ribbon onto the cookie sheet and pour the sparkles over it. Pour as many sparkles as you'd like over the glue. Once you're finished, shake off the excess sparkles and pour them back into the sparkle container.

7. Allow the glue to dry (about four hours) before using it in any project.
