Change Your Flip-Flop With Your Look.
1. Use an inexpensive pair of flip-flops.
Purchase a pair of flip-flops to decorate. Choose a pair with wider side straps for greater surface space. Heel height of several inches or flat is based on your comfort level.
2. Use Velcro patches to change center appliques.
Place the adhesive side of a Velcro patch to the top of the center stem. Affix the other side of the Velcro patch to applique, decorative button, shell or rhinestone. Change out center embellishment on flip-flop and change the look of your shoe.
3. Silk flowers are simple yet varied.
Wrap different varieties of flowers around your flip-flop. Purchase silk flowers at your crafting or sewing center. Use narrow ribbon or soft crafting wire to secure a blossom around the center stem of the flip-flop. Unwind and change from red roses to white carnations or any other flower in the garden to match your outfit and your mood.
4. Tie a bow and go!
Tie a removable bow to class up your foot ware. Cut 1 to 2 feet of ribbon in your chosen texture. Choose between satin, velvet or grosgrain ribbon. Tie a simple yet fluffy bow around the center stem of the flip-flop. Trim the excess length of ribbon from the ends. Switch ribbons, bows and looks whenever you desire
5. A clip-on bow tie can be clipped on and off.
Purchase a clip-on bow tie and clip it to front of the flip-flop. Take an inexpensive yet sturdy faux pearl necklace or bracelet and string it along the side straps. Pin a costume jewelry pin or small broach into the center stem for a new version of the cameo look.
