Homemade edible treats make well-received wedding favors.
Create your own elegant and beautiful inexpensive wedding favors at home. Conventional tokens are often discarded after the celebration. Instead make favors that will complement your table settings and be enjoyed by your guests. Choose an easy recipe for delicious treats that you can make in advance. Present them in small boxes tied with classic ribbon for favors which will be admired and devoured by everyone.
Instructions
1. Make edible treats. Fudge, chocolate truffles or cookies would be enjoyed by your guests. Iced heart-shaped cookies with the couple's initials piped on the tops would be appealing.
2. Place a few treats into a small candy box. You can purchase inexpensive boxes in the baking department at discount or craft stores.
3. Wrap a wide piece of heavy satin ribbon around the width of the box. Tie a simple bow on top. Cut the ends of the ribbon at an angle with scissors. Choose ribbon that reflects your color scheme.
4. Design and print a personalized tag on colored paper that coordinates with the ribbon and wedding colors. Include the couple's names and the date. Add a short sentiment, if you desire. Apply a dab of tacky white glue on the back side of the tag and secure it on the top of the box. Angle it slightly and position the left edge under the bow. The tag can be larger than the top of the box.
