Halloween is a holiday dedicated to having fun. Children and adults have parties to celebrate. They decorate their houses with symbols of the holiday such as skeletons and carved pumpkins. Many people also dress up in costumes. A costume can be elegant, interesting, scary or creative. Make your own homemade wedding cake costume if you want to use your imagination and show off your artistic side.
Instructions
1. Start with a wedding cake hat to place on your head. Cut out a figure of a man and a woman from a piece of cardboard. Give the woman a frilly white dress and the man a tuxedo. Tape or staple the figures to a white box. The box should be big enough to sit comfortably on your head but not fall down below your ears. Poke two small holes in either side of the end of the box. Insert a ribbon to make a strap to hold the box firmly against your head.
2. Make the body of the costume. Stack five large white square boxes on top of each other, with the smallest at the top. Cut out all ends and the tops of the boxes. All that should remain is a box with five sides. If you don't have white boxes you can spray paint the boxes white.
3. Glue all five boxes together in size order. The largest box should go on the bottom. Measure your head at its widest point. Make a hole in smallest box so that can you fit your head and body through it. You may need to step into the body of the costume rather than pull it over your head. Measure your arms. Make two holes in the second smallest box large enough for your arms to fit through on either side.
4. Decorate the boxes to look like a wedding cake. Glue large ribbons around the edges of the boxes where each one meets the next box. Tie the ends in a large bow. Rip up silk flowers or real flowers. Glue the petals on the side of the boxes so they cascade down the front of the boxes. Write the name of a fictitious wedding couple on the side of the largest boxes so that it can be seen as you walk around. Give the couple a wedding date as well.
5. Put on a pair of white pants. Wear white shoes, white gloves and a white shirt. Scatter flower petals in your hair to match the cake decorations.
