Make Baby Hairbows

Tiny babies look androgynous unless the little girls are wearing hair bows. The trick is to fasten it to their wispy strands of hair and get it to stay there. If you have a stray clamp-style hemostat laying around, It will hold a small hank of hair long enough to fasten a soft elastic hair bow around the shaft. These girlie bows are quick and easy to make.

Instructions

1. Cut several 1-inch lengths of ribbon and rickrack. Lay them out so that they are fanned into a circular shape. Stitch in the middle to hold them together.

2. Cut four 2-inch squares of nylon netting. Pink the edges. Lay them on top of each other, turning each a quarter of a turn so that they fan around in a circle. Stitch the bundle of ribbons in the center of the nylon net and stitch the rosebud button in the center of that.

3. Turn the net and ribbon embellishment over and hand stitch the back side around a small elastic hair band or glue it to the center of a small hair clip.
