Use any colored or patterned ribbon for your hair clip.
Hair clips come in handy for girls and women of any age. Hair clips will help to keep fly-away hair in place, keep your hair out of your eyes and add a little color to your hairstyle. Finding the perfect hair clip for you, however, might be difficult. If you're an adult, you may notice that many available hair clips look better suited to a much-younger individual. For younger kids, you may find that the clips don't include the desired colors. Instead of purchasing plain hair clips or clips you don't really like, you can line the hair clips with ribbon to make them exactly how you want them.
Instructions
1. Hold the ribbon in your non-dominant hand. Flick the lighter to produce a small flame. Quickly run the flame on either end of the ribbon. This will seal the ribbon ends to prevent fraying.
2. Pinch open the alligator hair clip. Apply two dots of glue to the top clip on the inside. The first dot should be to the back of the clip, the second at the tip.
3. Slide one end of the ribbon inside the clip. Press the ribbon to the top of the clip, adhering the ribbon to the glue. Close the clip.
4. Turn the clip over. Apply a thin line of glue to the top portion of the clip. Pull the ribbon over the top portion of the clip. Press the ribbon down on top of the glue, pulling with a bit of tension to make the ribbon smooth.
5. Place a dot of glue to the inside of the hinge area. Fold the ribbon over and press it to the glue to adhere.
6. Apply a tiny dot of glue on the underside of the clip. Fold the remaining bit of ribbon over and press it onto the glue.
7. Allow a few hours for the glue to completely dry before wearing in your hair.
