Fix For Making Hair Thicker

Hair condition and thickness can be a sign of overall health. Thin hair can be the result of genetics, health condition, brittle hair, stress levels and the environment. Hair thickness can't always be controlled, but there are steps you can take that may help, such as changing your diet, massaging your scalp, and using hibiscus oil to nourish the hair and scalp.

Hair-Thickening Nutrients

What you put in your body is reflected in your physical appearance, especially your skin, nails and hair. Maintain a healthy diet without skipping meals and take a daily multivitamin. Since your hair is made of protein, your diet should have plenty of it, from dairy, fish and meat. If you consume large amounts of carbohydrates, this can affect your scalp in a negative way, drying it out. Make sure your daily diet includes vitamin A for a healthy scalp, vitamin E and niacin for increased scalp circulation, biotin to help produce keratin, and vitamins to help prevent hair loss such as B6 and B12. You can find these in supplement form or in green vegetables, soybeans, vegetable oils, citrus fruits, strawberries and kiwi, seeds and legumes, wheat germ, whole grains, eggs, turkey and chicken, rice, liver, organic butter and coconut oil.

Treat Hair Gently

Treat your hair gently to help avoid breakage. Wash it every couple of days, so the natural oils can moisturize and make the follicles and strands strong. Try not to pull or aggressively brush your hair when it's wet, as it is two times more fragile. If you must comb through it when wet, use your fingers gently. Massage your scalp with your fingers for about 15 minutes daily to promote circulation, which may help stimulate the hair follicles.

Hibiscus Hair Treatment

Hair masks are a concentrated concoction to add nutrients to hair, for more shine and softness, to reduce split ends, or to add volume. A hair mask of hibiscus oil is made from the leaves and flowers of the plant. Make a large batch of it to use weekly. First, obtain about six to seven flowers with leaves from a hibiscus plant. Chop up the flowers and leaves, then add 1 cup of olive oil or coconut oil to moisturize and strengthen the hair. Heat this mixture in a bowl in the microwave until steaming. Let cool and store in a jar. Once a week before bathing, warm the hibiscus oil and massage it into your scalp for about 10 minutes. Within a couple of months, you may notice a difference in the quality of your hair.
