Create A Hair Bow Board

If you have hair bows that have multiplied to the point of chaos, then it is time to establish order for your hair bows. When you have your hair bows neatly organized, you can easily see what you have and choose the perfect hair bow to compliment every outfit. There are many different ways to make a hair bow board. Make a hair bow board following these steps and then fill it up with all of the beautiful hair bows you have collected.

Instructions

1. Place the fabric onto a flat work surface with the wrong side facing up. Position the self-adhesive mounting board onto the fabric as shown.

2. Press down on the mounting board to adhere the fabric to it. You must make sure that the fabric is wrinkle-free across the front of the bow board.

3. Flip the fabric and mounting board over and pull the fabric around to the other side of the mounting board. Press to smoothly adhere the fabric to the other side of the mounting board.

4. Trim any excess fabric to leave approximately 1/8-inch of fabric extending out from the sides of the mounting board.

5. Place the fabric-covered mounting board on your work surface so that the front side is facing up.

6. Measure a length of grosgrain ribbon to finish the edges of the bow board. You will need a ribbon length that will run along both sides and the bottom of the bow board. Cut a piece of ribbon to this length.

7. Place the ribbon you cut in Step 6 onto the upper right corner of the fabric-covered mounting board. The ribbon needs to be positioned so that half of it is on the front side of the mounting board and the other half of it can be wrapped around to the back of the mounting board.

8. Glue the ribbon along the edge of the fabric-covered mounting board. When you get to the corners, carefully fold them before gluing and then continue on in the same fashion toward the next corner. You will be gluing the ribbon down the right side, across the bottom, and up the left side of the fabric-covered mounting board. Allow the glue to dry completely.

9. Turn the mounting board over so that the back is facing up. Pull the ribbon around from the front to the back and glue it in place along the back edge of the fabric-covered mounting board in the same way as you did the front side.

10. Measure four lengths of grosgrain ribbon to stretch across the front of the fabric-covered mounting board vertically. These lengths of ribbon will be glued on the back, so add a little extra to your ribbon measurements to allow for this. Cut the ribbons to this measurement.

11. Arrange the ribbons along the top of the mounting board. Space them evenly and then glue the ends of the ribbons to back edge of mounting board. Pull the ribbons straight down vertically toward the bottom of the mounting board and glue the ends of the ribbons in place to the bottom back edge of the mounting board.

12. Measure a length of grosgrain ribbon to stretch across the mounting board horizontally to make the ribbon hanger. Add a little extra to the ribbon measurement to allow for gluing. Cut the ribbon to this measurement.

13. Glue one end of the ribbon to the back side of the mounting board in the upper left corner with the end of the ribbon facing in toward the center of the mounting board.

14. Pull the ribbon around the corner of the mounting board and to the front of the mounting board. Pass the ribbon under the first vertical ribbon on the front of the fabric-covered mounting board.

15. Repeat Steps 13 and 14 with the other end of the ribbon to finish making the hanger for the bow board.

16. Hang the bow board from the ribbon hanger.

17.Attach barrette bows to the vertical ribbons on the front of the bow board.
