Hair bows

Hair bows are a timeless accessory that accent hair for a cute, flirty look. Tying a basic hair bow is easy and takes hardly any time to complete. Use craft ribbon of various colors, patterns, prints and themes to tie a bow to match anything and everything in your wardrobe. Embellish your hair with a bow for a night out, add a satin accent for a wedding or a pretty put together look during the day.
Instructions
1. Choose a ribbon for your hair bow. Cut the ribbon to measure 18 inches.
2. Apply a thin, coat of clear nail polish to both edges of the ribbon on each side of the edge to keep the ribbon from fraying or unraveling.
3. Wrap the ribbon around the hair you are tying it around and tie a single knot; there will now be two pieces hanging on either side of your hair equal in length. The hair should be secured with an elastic band to reduce slipping.
4. Make a loop with one side of the ribbon using about 2 or 3 inches of ribbon. Next, place your thumb on the front of the loop and forefinger on the back to hold it with your left hand. Use your right hand and bring the front edge of the ribbon up and wrap it around the loop you've made. Slide the edge through the loop you've just made passing it over your thumb. You will now have two loose looking loops. Pull both sides of these tight, reducing the slack in your knot.
5. Pull the edges of the bow to loosen the bow and perfect each side to the length or width you desire.
