Stepbystep Emo Hair styles

Emo hair styles are sometimes confusing to master or end up looking like a mess from all the effort one can expend styling trying to get it right. True emo hair is offbeat. Sharp jagged silhouettes are indicative of the emo hair, and most emo styles incorporate height or color to add edge. You can style an emo look with a few instructions.

Exaggerated Front Bangs and Side Part

This emo style is simple and won't make you look like a poser. If you have short, razor-cut hair, this style will work well for you. Apply smoothing gel from the roots to the tips of clean hair. This will give your hair the grip it needs to hold the style in place. Next, make a side part down one side. The part should be deep, and start at the middle of the pupil of the eye. Pull all the hair from the back of your head to the front. Finally, comb it all in place and smooth it with your hands. You now have an exaggerated front bang with a side part.

Colorful Faux Hawk

Comb your short cut hair until it is tangle free. Apply a thick sculpting wax to the root and comb the hair upward into the mohawk shape. The sides must be smooth and tapered, and the top must be spikey; this is the mohawk shape. The wax will hold the hair in place so that it sticks straight up. After the wax, spray the hair with extra hold hair spray. They spray a tinting spray in a bright color of your choice on the tips of the mohawk. Finally, finish with another coat of hairspray.

Disheveled Look

The disheveled look is favored by many emo girls, because it is simple yet attractive. Part your clean, dry hair down the middle. Tease the back with a fine-toothed comb. After teasing part the hair down the side, the part should only go back about two inches. Comb your bangs to the front and tease them. Run your fingers through and massage the roots to make the hair appear messy. Finish the style with a hairspray to add texture.
