Diy Favor Tags

Personalized, home made wedding favor tags.

Your wedding is one of the most expensive events you will ever plan. You've probably already tried to figure out where you can cut extra costs out of your budget to keep or add things that are special to you and your fiance. One easy way to cut costs is by doing projects yourself. Do-It-Yourself favor tags are a perfect example of how you can save big money by using some of your time and creativity.

Hand Written

Use small sticker tags or cut heavy card stock into the size and shape of your desire. If you have excellent penmanship, or if your fiance possesses nice handwriting, hand write your thank you message. This personal touch will likely be noticed, and appreciated by your guests.

Write your names and wedding date, or a simple "thank you for sharing our day" with a glittery pen in the colors of your wedding. You can also use a real calligraphy pen to try your hand at calligraphy.

Computer Prints

If you're better with a computer than with your hands, design a little tag using your favorite font and an image that matches your invitations or theme. Use clip art to design your tag if you're good at computer design.

Copy and paste your image until you've filled an entire page in a word program and print them out using a high-quality printer on heavy card stock. You can also have them printed for a small fee at a copy store such as Staples or Kinko's. Cut the labels out and they're ready to be attached to your favors.

Rubber Stamps

Another idea is to cut out your tags or use shipping labels. Order a custom rubber stamp with an image that follows your theme, your monogram, your names and wedding date or your personal "thank you" message. To save money, you can pick up a simple "thank you" stamp as well. Stamp each favor and they're done.

Finishing Touches

Use scrapbooking scissors to embellish the edges or create designs. Hole punchers are great to attach the tags to favors with ribbon corresponding with your wedding colors. The holes can be plain circles or whatever shape you want using scrapbooking hole punchers.

Add stickers with hearts, gold wedding bands or whatever images you desire. Rhinestone stickers add a classy touch as well.
