Make festive lace hair bows from themed lace ribbon.
Homemade boutique hair bows are not only economical but are also a fun way for a craft-loving person to add a personal touch to hair accessories. Make a feminine, lacy hair bow from just a few pieces of lace and attach the bow to your favorite type of snap clip. Make a multitude of the little hair accessories for yourself and then share your creativity and give a few to a special friend or family member.
Instructions
1. Cut six pieces of 1-inch-wide lace ribbon. Make each piece 4 inches long and use two pieces of each color.
2. Pile the cut pieces of ribbon on top of each other.
3. Grasp the pile of lace pieces by placing your thumb in the center of the bottom piece of lace and your pointer finger in the middle of the top piece. Fan out the pieces of lace slightly into a bow shape. Squeeze the pieces together in the center.
4. Pierce the center with the sewing needle and thread and make one or two stitches. Wrap the thread several times around the center to gather the middle. Sew three or four stitches into the back of the bow. Knot the thread and cut off any excess.
5. Cut a 2-inch piece of lace ribbon. Place a small dab of hot glue around the center of the ribbon and wrap the piece of lace around the center of the ribbon.
6. Glue the ribbon to the snap clip and enjoy.
