Hair bows are great accessories for women of all ages.
Hair bows are versatile fashion accessories that can add a stylish or festive look to your outfit. They can be worn by anyone, regardless of age, and with any outfit, regardless of the occasion. Hair bows can be attached to headbands, hair clips, pins, ties and combs depending upon your hair accessory needs or preferences.
Instructions
1. Select your ribbon. Hair bows can be made to reflect school colors, sports team colors, holiday colors, or to coordinate with a specific outfit. Select your ribbon accordingly. Ribbon can be purchased for a few dollars per yard at fabric and craft stores.
2. Cut your ribbon into three sections. To make a basic 3-inch long hair bow that will cover a standard hair clip, cut your ribbon into 6-inch, 4-inch and 2-inch sections. You may modify the section lengths to create smaller or larger bows to cover a large clip or comb.
3. Fold the two largest pieces of ribbon in half and use your hot glue gun to glue the ends of each ribbon together, creating two ribbon circles or loops. One of the loops should be larger than the other. Place a dot of hot glue over the intersection of the two ends on each piece of ribbon and press the top center of the ribbon onto the glue. When finished you should have two rudimentary "bows". Glue the smaller "bow" to the top of the larger "bow" with the seam of the smaller bow facing down.
4. Wrap your smallest piece of ribbon around the center of the bow. Glue the ends of your small ribbon to the bottom of the larger bottom "bow". Select a headband, clip, pin, barrette or comb to attach your bow to. Place a small dot of glue to the back of your bow and press it onto your hair accessory.
