Keep Barrettes From Sliding Out

Hair accessories can pull your entire look together.

Barrettes and hair clips are chic accessories that play double duty for women because they keep hair out of faces and where it belongs, along with adding a little ornamentation to the hairstyle. Women and children with fine hair may find the barrette falling out on a constant basis because of the silky-like texture of the hair. Help secure the barrette by creating a locking system with another, small section of hair and some hairspray.

Instructions

1. Place the barrette in the hair using an upward sweeping motion. The barrette should not have to be forced shut or look like there is too much hair in the barrette teeth.

2. Grab a small section of extra hair next to the barrette and gently circle it around where the hair is fed through the barrette, under any bows or embellishments.

3. Open the edge of the barrette to slip the extra section of hair within the teeth. This will secure the hair in the barrette and create a lock on the hair feeding into the barrette.

4. Spray the hair lightly with flexible-hold hairspray. This will help to prevent the hair from slipping.
