Christmas Presents For The Hair Clients

Give your clients a little something extra this Christmas.

Providing hair care for your clients can be a challenging job. When you have special clients who appreciate your work, show up for appointments on time, and treat you well, you may want to repay them by giving them Christmas gifts. Giving multiple gifts can be expensive and time-consuming, so give your clients that little extra something that will let you know you remember them without breaking the bank.

Samples

As a hairdresser, you often receive a great deal of samples from manufacturers or mail-order companies that want to win your business. During the year, keep track of the products your clients like the most and save the same brand samples as small stocking-stuffer-size presents. Accompany them with a Christmas card with a handwritten note to thank your client for her patronage. You can also pick up sample sizes at beauty supply stores for low cost and give them away as the season approaches.

Discounts

Give a discount for the upcoming year in the form of a coupon tucked inside a Christmas card with a handwritten note. A discount of 15 percent to 20 percent is tasteful yet won't take a large chunk out of your budget. This can apply to coloring, haircuts or any other service you offer. Loyal clients will be able to use these certificates upon their next visit, which will bring you a bit more business during the slow season after the holidays. Don't set an expiration date and allow your clients to use them whenever they'd like.

Swap Services

Talk with the other service providers in your salon such as the manicurist or the eyebrow or coloring specialists. See whether they would like to trade free services for their clients as Christmas presents. By offering their clients a free treatment, you can build your client base and gain a customer who is already coming to your salon. This may boost business for both you and your coworkers in the coming year. Set a date in which you will exchange gift certificates for each other's services and include them in your yearly Christmas card.

Beauty and Luxury Items

During the year, pick up beauty and luxury items that you think your more dedicated clients would appreciate. A good soap, a small gift basket with bath items, or even a pound of good coffee or tea will be inexpensive but greatly appreciated by your clientele. A small bottle of hand lotion that a client can tuck inside her purse during the dry winter months is also a great idea that won't break your bank. A gift certificate to a local coffee haunt will also go a long way in letting your clients know that you are thinking of them and that their business is appreciated.

Beauty Items

Clients aren't always able to purchase the beauty supply items available to salons because they are not always offered to the public. Getting select clients a special pair of professional tweezers or a specialty brush, comb or heating implement will win their hearts and make them even more loyal to your services. Shop during the year for discounted professional items that will make good presents for those clients whose loyalty you want to acknowledge in a special way.
