The Sims 2" is a life-simulation game released by Electronic Arts for the home computer. Players are tasked with creating and controlling simulated people called "Sims." Sims can be entirely customized by the player from appearance and personality to fears and dreams. "The Sims 2" comes packaged with a free, editing program called "The Body Shop." This program can be used to create personalized content from scratch. Making a new hair mesh with "The Body Shop" is quite simple and should take less than one hour to complete.
Instructions
1. Open "The Sims 2 Body Shop" program. "The Body Shop" is automatically installed on your computer when you install "Sims 2." The Body Shop can be found in the Start Menu program list inside of the "Sims 2" directory.
2. Click "Create Parts" from the main menu of "The Body Shop."
3. Click "Start New Project."
4. Click on the "Genetics" tab located at the top of the project window.
5. Click on the "Hair" tab from the "Genetics" sub-menu.
6. Use the "Age," "Fitness" and "Gender" dials to configure the basic appearance of your Sim. This information will be used to determine how your hair mesh changes based on the age and appearance of the Sim using it. Each hair mesh can contain multiple models that change based on age and fitness. These features will be automated if only one model is made by the player.
7. Use predefined hairstyles and colors to create a base for your mesh. Continue to add to or alter the hairstyle to your liking using the modeling tools.
8. Click "Import to Game" when you are satisfied with the appearance of your new hairstyle. This will import the new mesh into your Sims 2 game. Once the mesh has been imported, your Sims will be able to use the new hairstyle.
