Children will enjoy wearing whimsical spiral bows.
If you have a child who enjoys making her hair look nice, you can encourage this type of personal care by providing her with beautiful hair bows. Although you can buy custom hair bows from a specialty kid's store, they can often be costly. One alternative is to make your own custom hair bows using a few craft supplies. When you make your own bows, you can even add on special embellishments, such as spiraled ribbons.
Instructions
1. Cut eight pieces of ribbon into 8-inch lengths.
2. Open up the scissors you are using, and place one of the blades against one width of one of the ribbons.
3. Run the blade down the ribbon, which will coil the ribbon into a spiral.
4. Repeat this process with each of the eight ribbons.
5. Place the spiraled ribbons together into a stack.
6. Tie the stack of ribbons into a single bow.
7. Insert a hot glue stick into a hot glue gun, and plug it in an outlet to heat up for a few minutes.
8. Squeeze a dollop of hot glue onto the top of a metal barrette.
9. Press the spiral bow onto the hot glue dollop, and hold it into place until the glue cools and hardens. You can now use the spiral hair bow.
