The right shade of pink lipstick can impart a healthy glow to any face.
Plato may have said, "Beauty is in the eye of the beholder," but that doesn't mean we can't give it a little boost now and then. Even the most impeccable grooming will be undone by a scowling face and an unfriendly attitude, so approach your beauty ritual calmly and cheerfully. Whether you're looking for a complete makeover or just a seasonal update for your look, the best beauty tips are those that will make you feel stylish, confident and pretty.
Skin
Lipstick in a warm pink shade will add a glow to your face, distract the eye from imperfections in your skin and is flattering to all skin tones. Take note of the color your face flushes after a good workout -- buy cream or powder blusher in just that shade. Thirty minutes before applying depilatory wax at home, coat the area to be waxed with tooth-numbing gel to make it less sensitive. Use moisturizer even if your skin is oily; oil is not the moisture your skin needs.
Eyes
To keep your eyeshadow from creasing, coat your eyelids with pressed powder or eyeshadow base before applying the shadow. To make your eyes look bigger, use a nude eyeshadow on the whole eyelid, then put a slightly darker shadow in the crease; blend upward with your fingers or a sponge. Apply mascara without clumping by starting with the wand near the lash line, then wiggling it side-to-side as you draw it through the lashes. Brush with an eyelash brush or a clean, dry mascara wand.
Lips
Make your lips look fuller by adding a dot of shiny or shimmery gloss to the middle of your bottom lip, over your lipstick. To keep your lips moist, coat them with moisturizing eye cream. For long-lasting color, use a lip-lining pencil the same color as your lipstick to entirely cover your lips. Apply lipstick with a brush, dust with a light coat of powder, and apply a second coat. Trace a thin line of gold or iridescent pencil along the top edge of the cupid's bow (the scallop at the top of the upper lip).
Brows
Don't overpluck your brows; use a bit of petroleum jelly or eyebrow gel to keep them in line. If you do pluck them, the space between them should be equal to the width of one eye. A properly shaped eyebrow begins on an imaginary line drawn from the outer nostril on that side and extending through the inner corner of the eye; it ends on another imaginary line drawn from the outer nostril on that side and extending through the outer corner of the eye.
