If you have curly hair, use a straightening iron to get your curls out before you attempt a bow hairstyle.
The bow hairstyle is a cute style for the festive season, special occasions and birthday celebrations. The style requires shoulder length hair and a modicum of styling skill. If your hair is short or thin, use artificial hair of the same color to make your hair bow. The most important aspect of the bow hairstyle is straight hair. If your hair is naturally curly, use a straightening iron to tame your tresses.
Instructions
1. Brush your hair out and separate the hair you wish to use in your bow hairstyle. You can use a portion of your hair to make a small bow or all your hair to make a big one. Secure the hair with one of the hair elastics and pull taut to make a pony tail.
2. Place the second elastic 2 inches above the first. This one can be slightly looser than the first. The hair between the two elastics will form the "knot" of the bow. Fold the pony tail over so that the second elastic and the first are touching. The bulge of hair between the elastics should be facing the front. Secure the second elastic to the hair just behind the first elastic -- near the scalp -- with a bobby pin.
3. Divide the pony tail into two sections of equal size. Brush out the hair on one side of the pony tail and, starting with the tips, roll it up into a tube of hair and secure the hair near the elastics with bobby pin. Repeat with the other side.
4. Spray the style liberally with hairspray to keep it in place.
