A Hello Kitty birthday party is a fun way to share your child's love of all things Hello Kitty. Her simple and wholesome way of playing and exploring her world are easy for children to relate to. Hello Kitty has a wide age range of fans, from toddlers through teenage girls.
Hello Kitty Party Colors
The best colors for a Hello Kitty party are white, red, pink, green and a little bit of black. Streamers are inexpensive and can make a huge impact for transforming your party room into a Hello Kitty birthday room. Use every streamer color together, along with balloon bouquets as the base of your party decor.
Hello Kitty Party Decorations
In addition to the streamers and balloons, you can integrate the Hello Kitty theme even further by making simple Hello Kitty-style flowers to decorate the bottom of the tablecloth or hang on the walls. Visit your local craft store and have pink and red card stock die-cut into the shape of a simple flower or buy die-cut flowers online. Add a white circle to the center and trace all the edges with a black permanent marker so they look like cartoons. If you're crafty, you can make oversized cutouts of kitty's family and friends, like Mimmy, Mama, Papa, Grandpa, Grandma, Dear Daniel, Badtz Maru, Keroppi and Cinnamaroll. Trace their shapes first, then cut and paint with spray paint or acrylic paint. Be sure to trace each line with black paint or marker so it looks like a cartoon.
Hello Kitty Birthday Activities
Mimmy, Hello Kitty's twin sister, likes to cook tasty treats for Hello Kitty. Have party guests put on an apron and decorate giant sugar cookies. You can purchase Hello Kitty-shaped cookie cutters or just make them round. Be sure to supply plenty of frosting colors and several different kinds of sprinkles.
Make friendship bracelets. Hello Kitty always says, "You can never have too many friends." Use white pipe cleaners or even a red satin ribbon with a yarn needle, plus large craft beads for the younger children. If your party is for older kids, they might be able to manipulate smaller beads and jeweler's wire or elastic cording. Have them make several bracelets to give to one another or share with friends. Consider purchasing several Hello Kitty enameled beads and using one on each bracelet.
Make Hello Kitty hair bows. Tie a red ribbon into a bow shape and use hot glue to adhere it to a white headband. This is an easy make-and-take activity, but the hot glue and the bow-tying will require adult supervision for kids under age 10. Kids might also enjoy adding stickers to their headbands.
