Choose the perfect gift for your baby's first Valentine's Day.
Valentine's Day is typically a special time for two people who are in love. But there is no reason you cannot purchase gifts and celebrate Valentine's Day with other people you love, such as your new baby. While newborn babies cannot enjoy chocolates and other Valentine candies, there are plenty of other presents that would be perfect.
Clothing
Give your baby some special clothing to wear on Valentine's Day. For example, choose a comfortable onesie that is printed with hearts or a "Happy Valentine's Day" message. You could also select a dress that has hearts embroidered onto it or a cute pantsuit for a baby boy. A Valentine's Day bib is another idea. Choose other accessories, such as a Valentine's Day pacifier, socks, hair bow or shoes.
Blanket
When your baby is still a small infant, you likely have him swaddled in blankets most of the time. Choose a red or pink baby blanket that he can spend the whole day in. A simple baby blanket would work fine, or you could choose one that is printed with hearts or teddy bears holding hearts.
Mobile
Your baby may already have a mobile over her bed. When Valentine's Day rolls around, swap the mobile for another one that is Valentine's Day-themed. For example, choose a mobile that has plush hearts dangling from it. Other Valentine's Day mobiles could have pink or red plush animals hanging from it. You could also change your baby's crib bedding to red or pink sheets and blankets to go with the holiday.
Toy
Give your baby a Valentine's Day toy to help him celebrate his first Valentine's Day. For example, choose a rattle that is pink or red and is shaped like a heart. A Valentine's Day teething toy is another idea. Alternatively, select a plush toy, a book or a toy that plays music and lights up in pink and red.
