Sequins can make a hair bow more glamorous.
A sequinned hair bow can add a unique, glamorous touch to any hairstyle. It can be difficult to find a bow in the exact size, shape and color you want, and hair accessories can be expensive. You can save money and make your perfect hair bow by visiting your local fabric or craft supply store and buying some ribbon or fabric that you absolutely love, along with a handful of sequins. If you have a particular outfit in mind that you want to wear the bow with, take the outfit with you when choosing fabric or ribbon, to make sure the colors match or complement each other.
Instructions
1. Glue sequins in a random polka-dot pattern on a rectangular piece of fabric, using the glue gun. For a bow that is a few inches wide, start with a piece of fabric that is seven or eight inches long and 2 or 3 inches wide. Let the glue dry thoroughly and make sure the sequins are secure before proceeding. You can also purchase fabric that already has sequins on it.
2. Fold in the edges of the piece of fabric until they meet, and then fold the ends in the same manner so that you have a smaller rectangle with only the 'good' side of the fabric showing, front and back. Hold in place.
3. Pinch the long edges of the rectangle together, making the ends fan out so you have a bow shape, and use several stitches in the center to keep the fabric securely pinched together.
4. Fold another, smaller rectangle of fabric so that only the good side of the fabric shows, and wrap this around the center of the bow. Glue the ends together at the back of the bow and trim any excess fabric. If you use ribbon for this step instead of fabric, you don't need to worry about folding it before wrapping it around the bow.
5. Slide a bobby pin through the ribbon or loop of fabric, at the back of the bow, and glue into place. This will secure the bow in your hair.
