It seems from the moment you learn of your pregnancy, the question, "Is it a boy or a girl?" consumes your thoughts. You are eager to pick out that perfect pink or blue sleeper outfit. You long to finally focus on one section of the baby names book. An ultrasound will give you the answer you seek (if your baby isn't being modest that day), but there also are natural ways to try to determine the sex of your baby. While nothing short of amniocentesis is completely accurate, it is fun to guess--and you have a 50 percent chance of being right.
Instructions
1. Feel your growing belly, or examine your body in a mirror. Some people believe that if your baby bump is high in your abdomen, it means a boy is in your future. If your baby has nestled itself low, you are sure to have a girl.
2. Consider how you felt in the beginning of your pregnancy. If you were blessed with no morning sickness in the first trimester, you are having a boy. If you were sick as a dog from morning till night, a girl was causing all of the grief.
3. Examine your blossoming bosom. If you notice that your right breast is larger than your left, you are going to have a son. If your left breast is larger, you will have a daughter.
4. Do an attitude check on yourself. If your disposition has been predominantly stable and calm during your pregnancy, you are having a boy. If you have been moody and temperamental, you are having a girl.
5. Take into account what you have been eating. If your pregnancy cravings include salty items such as pickles or pretzels, you are having a boy. If you have been raiding the fridge for ice cream and cupcakes, you are having a girl.
6. Look into a mirror for a full minute. If your pupils dilate, your baby is a boy. If after a minute your pupils do not dilate, your baby is a girl.
7. Gauge the temperature of your feet. If your feet seem to become colder more quickly now than before you were pregnant, it means a boy. But if your feet are maintaining their toasty temperature, you can thank the little girl inside you.
8. Inspect your hands and face. Dry skin has been said to be a sign of carrying a boy, while oily skin means your baby will be a girl.
