Wally Disney Crafts

Making Walt Disney crafts allows you to save money on your vacation.

Purchasing items in the Disney theme parks can be expensive. You can expect to pay about $10 for an autograph book, $15 for a hair bow and $60 or more for a Disney princess dress. Making your own Walt Disney crafts is not difficult, thanks to the wide array of supplies available at craft, scrapbook and big box stores. You can craft items from papers, stickers, fabrics and more featuring your favorite characters.

T-Shirt or Sweatshirt

Look for iron-on transfers featuring your favorite Disney characters. You can transfer a design to a T-shirt or sweatshirt, depending on what time of year you are visiting the Disney theme parks. All you need is an iron; all transfers come with complete directions. You can iron an image onto a new shirt or an old one, just be sure that the shirt is light enough in color for the design to show up. Some iron-on transfers don't work well on dark colored fabric. Individual products vary, so check the label of your transfer for information about ideal shirt colors.

Autograph Book

Pick up a blank journal or notebook at a craft store and choose a theme for your book. A book for character autographs should be at least 3 by 5 inches because most theme park characters need that much space to write in the book. There are official Disney scrapbook papers and supplies for many different movies, characters and theme park rides, so it is easy to find supplies for your book. Decorate the cover of the book with paper and stickers, and write your name and cell phone number inside, just in case your book is lost.

Pillowcase Dress or Skirt

Use Disney-themed fabric or pillowcases and beginner's sewing skills to make a simple boutique style dress for your trip. If you begin with a printed pillowcase, you just need to cut the sewn end open. The opening where you would put a pillow becomes the hem. Fold the cut portion of fabric over to create a casing and insert elastic or a Disney-themed ribbon for an instant boutique style outfit to wear on vacation. If you don't have basic sewing skills, you can ask a crafty friend for help or refer to a sewing book for more details.
